How do I link my domain name to my hosting?

Learn how to connect your domain name to your mailbox, too.

Even though the domain name and the hosting are both essential components of a website, it is perfectly possible to have a domain name registered with one provider; and a hosting service, managed by another provider.

If this is the case with you, the directions below can help you connect the domain name to the hosting. Then when you type in the domain name, your browser will know to look for the content on the servers of your hosting supplier.

Choose and read carefully the section of the article, relevant to you:

How to make a domain name registered elsewhere, a primary address of my website at Combell?

Here we will look at two cases:

To check what the default domain name to your hosting is log in My Combell and follow My Products >> My Web Hosting. If the domain name is there, it is the default one. If it is not, you need to create a subsite.

To create a subsite, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in your My Combell.

  2. At the top follow My Products > Web hosting.

    Web hosting

  3. In the table you will see your hosts. Click on Hosting Details for the host you need to add subsites to.

  6. You see a list of your existing hosts. Click on + Add Subsite at the bottom right corner of the table.

  7. Check the message at the top to see your account’s A record. You need to change your domain name A record to match that – contact your domain name registrar, or the company that manages your name servers currently, otherwise the domain will not point to the subsite. If you do not know your current registrar, who.is might give you a hint.

    1. For subdomain:

        2. Change TXT record accordingly (with the domain name registrar) and retry
