How to configure my Basic mailbox in Outlook 2013 / Outlook 2016? (basic mail)

If you are working with Outlook 2013 / Outlook 2016, please follow the steps below to configure the mail client.

  1. Open Outlook

  2. Follow 'File' > '+ Add Account'.

  3. Select the option 'Manual setup or additional server types'.

  4. Choose 'POP or IMAP' and click on 'Next >'.

  5. Add account:

    1. On ‘Your Name’ enter the name you would like the recipients of your emails to know you by.

    2. On ‘Email Address’ enter your full email address.

    3. Select ‘IMAP’ or ‘POP3’ from the drop-down menu

    4. For ‘Incoming Mail Server’ copy the corresponding IMAP or POP3 mail server from from your hosting control panel

      1. POP3:

        (port:110; SSL port: 995)

      2. IMAP:

        (port: 143; SSL port: 993)

    5. For ‘SMTP’, again, copy from your hosting control panel

      1. SMTP:

        (port: 2525; SSL port: 465)

    6. For ‘User Name’ write down your full email address like so:

    7. For ‘Password’ – you know what to do.

    8. Click on 'More Settings'

      1. Go to the ‘Advanced’ tab and change the SMTP port. You can find the port at your control panel.


      2. Go to the ‘Outgoing server’ tab

        1. Select ‘My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication’

        2. From the radio buttons leave 'Use The Same Settings As My Incoming Mail Server'.

        3. Click on 'OK'.

      3. Click on ‘Next >’

      4. Click on ‘Close’

    9. Click on ‘Finish’


  6. Wait for Outlook’s test message to be received. Let us know if you have any troubles.
